The Challenge: An Overgrown Opportunity
During the design phase, most of the garden was overgrown, and we were planning on using as much as the uncovered stone as possible during the project installation. This meant that even though we had a design plan, we were also making it up as we went along (In a professional manner of course!).
Our clients wanted something truly stunning to be the created, a place to sit and escape from the stresses of day-to-day life.
Our Solution
After stripping back all the overgrown vegetation, and piling up all the stone on site, it allowed us to come up with a final plan and vision for the area. The great thing about this build was the trust the clients had in us to deliver them something really amazing. We utilised the natural terrain which inspired us to create a waterfall rockery using all the existing stone from the garden.
A discrete walkway along the fence boundary was installed to connect the water feature with the main stone terrace of the house. We used recessed lights to create a warm walkway at night, leading to the floating composite deck over the pond.
The End Result
We have to say that this was one of our proudest water features we have created!
Utilising all the stone and earth excavated on site, this was truly an economically friendly build.
The specimen Japanese Maple really framed and highlighted the rockeries water fall into the pond. The choice of planting was a reflection of the rest of the garden using dwarf specimens as well as rockery alpines.
Overall, the clients were overjoyed with the final product and were excited to sit back, relax and enjoy their new garden years to come.
